R&R Dancers "feel like CELEBRITIES" at Celebrity Regional Event

R&R brought 93 entries to Celebrity Dance - Denver Regionals this past weekend, with routines spanning every age division and genre. Celebrity is a large, tough, unleveled competition, with some of the best studios in the state in attendance. Our solos, duets/trios, groups, and production routines had an incredible showing, and we couldn’t be prouder of every one of our dancers. Below is a recap of an amazing weekend! We loved kicking off the season with such strong performances and know these dancers will only continue to grow and improve.
Pre-Junior Division
Our soloist Isla Black took 1st Place Overall!
Cruz Gonzales earned 3rd Overall, and Stella Garcia placed 4th Overall.
Raylee Vialpando was awarded a “Young Star” Judge’s Choice Award.
Junior Division (19 Soloists)
Blayke Klipfel earned 1st Place Overall, also winning both the Jazz and Lyrical categories.
Hazel Martinez placed 4th Overall and earned 2nd Place in the Lyrical category.
Intermediate Division (53 Soloists)
Placing in the overalls were Mila Knowlton with 2nd Place Overall, who also won the Jazz category, and Ivy Montez, taking 3rd Place Overall and winning her category.
Vayda Archuletta won the Open category, with Claire Davis placing 3rd.
Sloan Sanchez won the Acro category.
Ivy Montez also received a Judge’s Choice Award for Hip Hop Excellence.
Pre-Teen Division (78 Soloists)
Parker McKinley placed 5th Overall, won the Open category, and placed 2nd in the Jazz category.
Izabella Rodriguez placed 3rd in the Lyrical category.
Teen Division (53 Soloists)
Grace Pinelle placed 4th Overall.
Sofia Quartiero earned 3rd Place in the Lyrical category.
Senior Division (50 Soloists)
Macie Pinelle earned 1st Place Overall, winning both of her categories and tying herself for 1st Overall with her two solos.
Ashton Brosseau won the Jazz category.
Benjamin Dominguez received a Judge’s Choice Award, and Ronaiya Moore placed 2nd in the Senior Tap category.
Premier Division
Peyton Vialpando competed in the Premier division and earned 1st Place Overall.
Duets & Trios
Our duets and trios made a huge impact throughout the weekend:
Junior Duet “Hound Dog” — Blayke Klipfel & Ximena Delgado: 1st Place Overall
Trio “Super Troopers” — Mila Baros, Aranza Ibarra & Vayda Archuletta: 1st in Category, 4th Overall
Intermediate Duet “Beautiful Thing” — Mila Knowlton & Parker McKinley: 2nd Overall (out of 17)
Teen Duet — Harper McAlpin & Benjamin Dominguez: 2nd in Category
Teen Duet — Havanna Duncan & Taylor Anderson: 1st in Category
Trio “Coven” — Grace Pinelle, Avery Vialpando & Mattea Banuelos: 2nd Overall (out of 19)
Senior Duet — Raegan Smith & Olivia Roy: 2nd in Jazz Category
Senior Duet — Macie Pinelle & Madison Pilger: 1st Place Overall
Groups & Production
Only the Top 5 Overall Group Dances are awarded at Celebrity, combining all genres within each age division — and R&R placed Top 5 Overall in four age divisions.
Pre-Junior Groups:Jazz and Tap groups won their categories and earned 1st Overall and 3rd Overall.
Junior Groups:Won the Acro and Tap categories, earning 3rd Overall with their Acro routine.
Intermediate Groups:Won the Lyrical, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, Hip Hop, and Broadway categories.Earned 1st Overall with “Woods”, and 3rd and 4th Overall with Jazz and Lyrical routines.“Shablam” also received an Entertainment Award.
Pre-Teen Groups:The Acro routine “Shadows” won its category and placed 4th Overall.
Teen Groups:Earned 1st Place Overall with the Jazz routine “C’est Magnifique”, and 5th Overall with “This Is It”.
Production:Featuring nearly the entire team, R&R’s Production dance earned 2nd Place Overall out of four exceptional routines.
the DANCE DOWN
Celebrity also holds a Saturday night "dance down," where dancers learn a combination quickly plus do improvisation to earn a spot in the coveted top 3, and also compete for scholarships. There are 3 HUGE age divisions - mini, junior and senior and R&R had a top 3 finalist in all 3 divisions, PLUS scholarship winners!
MINI top 3 finisher: Blayke Klipfel
JUNIOR top 3 finisher: Parker McKinley
SENIOR top 3 finisher: Ashton Brosseau
Scholarship winners: Sofia Quartiero and Benjamin Dominguez
Macie Pinelle also won the Body Traffic scholarship and the highest honor from AMDA given which was a whopping $80,000 scholarship!
