While many competitions this season include our entire company, the last two events on the schedule were optional competitions. These weekends gave dancers the opportunity to attend for additional training and performance experience, entering solos, duet/trios, and a few small groups while continuing to represent R&R with excellence.

We are incredibly proud of the dancers who chose to take on the extra challenge and continue pushing themselves throughout the season.

Intrigue Dance Intensive – Denver

Our first optional event took place in Denver at the Intrigue Dance Intensive, an unleveled convention and competition weekend known for its high level of training and competition. Throughout the weekend, dancers immersed themselves in classes across multiple genres taught by an all-star faculty of working industry professionals. With hundreds of dancers attending from more than four states, the environment was both inspiring and highly competitive.

R&R dancers rose to the occasion and delivered strong performances both in the classroom and on the competition stage.

Improv Competition

Intrigue also offers dancers the opportunity to compete in an Improv Competition, where dancers must perform 45 seconds on stage to a randomly selected song. This was the first time any R&R dancers have participated in a competition of this kind, and they absolutely rose to the challenge. Improv requires quick thinking, musicality, creativity, and confidence—and our dancers did an incredible job representing R&R.
